Alan Trejo will fill in at the keystone and bat sixth.... See More... See Less Rockies' Jurickson Profar: Homers, scores twice in loss Profar went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Brewers. Profar put the Rockies on the board and kicked off a four-run inning with his solo home run in the top of the fourth. He then drove in a second run in the seventh before later coming around to score the go-ahead run in the 10th, putting Colorado up 6-5.
The home run was Profar's first since July 21 against the Marlins and it marked his second multi-hit game this month. He's also hit safely in five of his last seven games and is batting. 267 in August with three RBI and six runs scored.... See Less Rockies' Chris Flexen: Tagged for five runs Flexen did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings against the Brewers. He struck out four. Flexen looked good early, striking out two of the first three batters he faced before hurling three scoreless innings. However, he began to struggle with his command in the fourth, allowing three runs on three hits while needing 30 pitches to get out of the inning.
See Less Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Resumes full activities Blackmon (hand) turned in full workouts on the field Monday and Tuesday and could soon be cleared to begin a rehab assignment, MLB. Blackmon, who has been on the injured list since June 11 with a fractured right hand, was expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Aug. 1, but the Rockies nixed those plans after the 37-year-old acknowledged that he was experiencing some lingering discomfort.
The setback was considered a minor one, and Blackmon's ability to perform full baseball activities less than a week later suggests his rehab program is back on track. Expect the Rockies to provide an update on Blackmon's next steps within the next couple of days.... See Less Rockies' Connor Seabold: Heads back to Triple-A The Rockies optioned Seabold to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Colorado will swap Seabold off the 26-man active roster in favor of a fresh arm in right-hander Karl Kauffmann, who should serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen. Seabold was touched up for seven earned runs on eight hits and one walk over two innings of mop-up duty in his most recent appearance in Monday's 12-1 loss to the Brewers. After the ugly outing, Seabold is now sitting on a 7.
Prior to landing on the shelf, Carasiti compiled a 7. 06 ERA and 1. 71 WHIP across 21. 2 innings out of the Colorado bullpen.... See Less Rockies' Nick Mears: Not yet ready for mound work Mears (oblique) has been playing catch since late July but hasn't yet been cleared to throw off a mound, MLB. Mears has been slow to bounce back from a left oblique strain, which forced him to the 15-day injured list June 28. Since he'll need to throw multiple bullpen sessions, face hitters in live batting practice and complete a rehab assignment prior to being activated, Mears doesn't look as though he'll be ready to rejoin the Rockies' bullpen until late August at the soonest.... See Less Rockies' Kris Bryant: Still wearing splint on finger Bryant said Monday that he's uncertain when he'll be able to remove the splint protecting his fractured left index finger, MLB.
